Origin Trip #52: Del Tambo, Ecuador, 2024

Ecuador has had a hard couple of years, and the trip required more planning and more caution than any previous visit to Del Tambo.

We went anyway, because a Direct Trade relationship that only survives easy years is not a relationship.

The cooperative has finished its new drying marquesina, doubling the capacity to dry slowly under cover rather than racing the rain.

We tasted through eight fermentation trials and chose two for this year's purchase. One of them is the most floral Nacional we have ever bought.
